Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various pieces of manufacturing equipment using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments. This position will visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions and keep equipment operational. The Maintenance Mechanic plays an essential role in providing safe and reliable equipment for manufacturing that produces quality products for our customers. Responsibilities include: Safely and properly perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance procedures on all manufacturing equipment. Troubleshooting and repairing of precision machinery and auxiliary equipment, utilizing blueprints, schematics, manufacturer specifications, and manuals. Emphasize proactive measures to minimize reactive maintenance. Maintain and repair mechanical systems including but not limited to: Gear Boxes, Drive Shafts, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Belt Drives, Bearings, Gas Trains, and Clutches. Follow safety instructions while performing tasks and effectively communicating with operators, crew members, and management. May also perform some basic welding, machining, and other mechanical tasks. Required Qualifications Experience in safety practices such as LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Works, Ladder & Lifts, and PIV operation. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment, with an understanding of the urgency of equipment downtime. Basic knowledge of precision test and calibration equipment to perform preventative maintenance. Basic understanding maintenance tooling, best practices, predictive tooling, greasing and lubrication practices. Ability to understand and follow instructions, troubleshoot effectively and respond quickly to solve equipment malfunctions. Strong written and oral communication. Must provide own set of tools. Must be able to safely operate both hand and power tools. Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Quad Winchester, VA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance work including repair, inspection, modification and improvement on industrial printing equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic plays an essential role in helping the plant provide high quality product and efficient service to our customers by minimizing operational downtime. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain, service, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic circuitry and related production and facility equipment components. PLC, controls, and AC/DC drive experience required. Advanced knowledge in the electronic diagnostics of PLC's AC/DC drive systems, knowledgeable on Profibus and Can-bus and various types of computer-operated control circuitry. Ability to utilize electrical ladder diagrams, electronic circuitry diagrams, and software programs to modify, repair, or improve equipment functionality. Utilize various tools such as: hand tools, power tools, electrical/electronic test equipment, and calibration equipment. Self-motivated, good communication skills, and working relationships with others. Individuals must be proficient in the repair of a wide variety of equipment and ability to work flexible rotating shifts, including AM and PM shifts (7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 am), with some overtime required. Required Qualifications: Preferred education in Electronics or related fields, or a minimum of 5 years of electrical/electronic repair experience in a manufacturing environment, is preferred. Additional Qualifications: Demonstrate proficiency utilizing a personal computer, and order parts and materials by using appropriate company purchasing requirements, including computerized maintenance management systems. Ability to work closely with engineers, technicians, and peers to maintain electronic/electrical systems on new and specialized equipment with knowledge of the National Electrical Code and execute the most cost-effective method to fulfill customer and code requirements. A Rolltender's primary responsibility is to consistently load rolls of paper onto a printing press. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understanding standard operating procedures of the department Coordinate plates and tickets for upcoming jobs and hang paper according to job tickets. Inspect rolls of paper for blemishes or tears and cuts away any damage. Set up and make splices, bend and hang plates as well as hang blankets and assist with webbing up press. Ensure correct ink is available for job and check ink fountains regularly. Set fold during make-readies and check trim sheets to proof and complete necessary roll reports and paperwork accurately. Communicate effectively with plate room and paper warehouse and coordinate changing of ink, etch, and silicone totes as needed. Wash up the press and assist with preventative maintenance. Qualifications Candidates with previous jogger/entry level experience a plus Strong mechanical abilities and previous knowledge of presses and roll stands are a plus. Ability to perform basic math calculations are essential. Good verbal and written comprehension skills are a must. Must be able to thrive in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision. This position also requires the ability to bend and lift 10-20 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, use hands and wrists continuously and use vision in order to identify defects, performing repetitious tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with or without a reasonable accommodation.
