Position Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for performing Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) with a strong focus on accuracy, patient comfort, and clinical excellence. You will work closely with physicians and healthcare staff to promote continuity and ensure all testing aligns with established quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive pulmonary function tests with attention to precision and patient-centered care Uphold quality control measures in accordance with department protocols Communicate effectively with patients and their families during high-stress situations Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals Accurately input patient data using electronic health systems Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years in Pulmonary Function Testing, including quality control practices Education: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Licensure: Active Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner license required Certifications: Current BLS certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment) Preferred: Registered Pulmonary Therapist designation Ideal Candidate Traits: Creative problem-solver with minimal need for supervision Effective time management and planning skills Strong interpersonal communication, especially in emotionally charged situations Technically proficient in healthcare systems and data entry Location: St. Peter’s Health – Helena, Montana Live and work in a community surrounded by natural beauty, with access to hiking, fishing, skiing, and a high quality of life. Description Summary: The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and an Emergency Department- specific competency validation. All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation. Skills completion and competency completion will be achieved with the preceptor at the bedside and documented through the program’s tracking software. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements. Experience One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
