Solid understanding of loading conditions and strains on structures Strong foundation in solid mechanics (most critical). Hands on experience with finite element analysis (FEA) including modeling, boundary value problems, PDEs/ODEs. Experience with commercial FEA tools such as: ANSYS Abaqus LS-Dyna Experience using (or exposure to) open source FEA codes, examples include: MOOSE Code_Aster CalculiX MATLAB-based custom solvers Familiarity with physical testing methods (stress/strain characterization), even though the role is modeling focused. Purpose of the Position: As a Scientist/Engineer, you are responsible for modeling of new processes and/or process conditions for improved product attributes or reduced cost for glass and/or ceramic substrates and filters. You will be expected to develop modeling/analytical tools or utilizing existing tools to gain fundamental understanding of underlying principles. You need a strong foundation in solid mechanics and a high level of expertise in numerical modeling. Our team requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with globally distributed researchers, engineers in our commercial organizations and customers. The Process Simulation Engineer supports Corning's modeling group by conducting advanced solid mechanics modeling and simulation to improve product reliability and process understanding. The engineer will translate real-world loads, tests, and forming processes into mathematical and computational models using finite element analysis (FEA) tools. Outputs of the analyses will help predict stresses, strains, deformation, process feasibility, and product reliability across various applications (consumer electronics, automotive glazing, etc.). The role collaborates closely with testing and characterization teams but remains primarily modeling focused. Engage with the businesses as needed to help with addressing thin films concerns/questions from customers and other product engineering related problems. Good knowledge of the mechanical behavior of soft materials (e.g., gels, polymers). Analyze problems and reduce them to mathematical models, carrying out experiments to validate models, deriving numerical and technological solutions and making recommendations Strong mathematical and programming skills in FEA and BEM in commercial software packages (Abaqus, Ansys, etc.) Desired Skills: Experience with structural thin film mechanics while focusing on material modeling and characterization. Surgical Technician Certified, Operating Room (Full Time, Days)

The Surgical Technician Certified handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure Scrubs, gowns, and gloves self and members of the surgical team Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure and ensures they are in good working condition Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed Assists with draping sterile field Passes instruments, retractors and suture etc., to surgeon during procedure Demonstrates ability to anticipate need of the surgical team Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure Handles surgical specimens appropriately and safely Handles sharps and mediations following OR safety policies PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sit up to 1 hour per day. Stand for up to 8 hours per day; possibly 6 hours at a time. Walk up to 8-10 hours per day; up to 2 hours at a time. Continuously required to use manual dexterity for handling and twisting/turning. Consistently lift and carry objects up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds; frequently push objects up to 100 pounds (i.e., camera carts, microphones, storage carts, etc.).
