RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in Surgical Procedures: Work closely with the surgical team to assist in various general surgery procedures, including but not limited to laparoscopic surgeries, appendectomies, hernia repairs, and colorectal surgeries. Pre and Post-Operative Care: Manage pre-operative assessments, including patient history and physical examinations. Provide post-operative care, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with the surgical team to optimize recovery. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Ensure clear communication regarding treatment plans and expectations. Collaboration with Medical Team: Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and contribute to a positive and efficient work environment. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including medical histories, progress notes, and treatment plans, in accordance with established protocols. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Applicants should have the following: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant. Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Previous experience in general surgery or a related field is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
