We serve PG&E's customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure and reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, educating our customers and pursuing innovative R&D on the future of transportation electrification, focused on vehicle-grid-integration (VGI). Position Summary CET's Strategy and Policy (S&P) team creates, tests, and advocates for evidence-based clean energy transportation solutions by spearheading pilot projects, policy frameworks, tailored customer offerings, and stakeholder engagement. Our team develops, iterates, and executes on PG&E's strategy to connect 3 million electric vehicles (EV) to the grid by 2030 and enabling at least 550 MW of flexible load from VGI applications. To do this, the team is focused on the following five pillars below: * Build : reimagining how we build the transmission and distribution grid to enable mass EV adoption, * Deploy: strategizing how we can enable and deploy VGI at scale, * Invest: identifying how we ensure the state meets ambitious charging infrastructure targets and developing new programs to ensure we invest in all of our communities, * Serve: working to serve our EV customers in a way that inspires joy and builds trust; and, * Create: creating a repeatable and scalable pathway to enable widespread electrification via partnerships and policy advocacy. The S&P Manager will be responsible for leading a team focused on regulatory and policy advocacy and new program development for CET and will set and iterate on the strategic direction for electric vehicles within PG&E, as the lead for PG&E's EV True North Strategy (TNS). A successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be a self-starter and quick learner and willing to consider industry trends, the regulatory and policy environment, financial impacts, and customer needs as they develop and execute on strategic initiatives for PG&E and our EV customers. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader. Preferred work location is Oakland, CA. PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The work of this department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The main functions of this new department are identifying areas of compliance risk and opportunities to mitigate those risks, including through incident reporting and investigations, overseeing Electric Operations and Power Generation CAP, and validating the controls on the organization. Position Summary PG&E is seeking an experienced business professional to be a member of the Electric Incident Investigations (EII) Team as an Incident Investigator, Expert. The EII team is responsible for reporting Electric Incidents (EIRs) to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), investigating EIRs and areas of compliance risk to determine the cause and any corrective or preventive measures to mitigate reoccurrence. This role will have a high level of visibility with PG&E leadership and will support one or many aspects of EII's scope. A strong applicant will be an organized, motivated, curious, a consensus builder, and seeks to understand the "bigger picture". Location of this position is flexible within PG&E service territory and will require occasional travel to other areas around PG&E's service territory. Prepare and submit summary of investigation (20-day report) and Apparent Cause Evaluations (ACEs), including identifying corrective actions and gaining consensus with senior and executive leadership to mitigate risk. * Identifies and summarizes compliance risk concerns, including forecasting potential Notices of Violation (NOVs) from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). * Prepares and submits responses to NOVs received by the CPUC. * Investigates concerns of medium to high risk to PG&E, including working with PG&Es Legal team. Prepares and presents summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive leaders. * Designs data analysis to achieve business objectives, process data, analyze data, write clear and concise data findings and tailor communications to specific audiences. * Manages very complex investigations and data extracts/analysis, ensuring data accuracy. * Manages extracting data and transferring the data from databases to various analysts to support operational analysis efforts. * Analyzes data using various advances statistical tools to develop reports, summaries, and trends. * Demonstrates and utilizes broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues. * Acts as team lead and provides direction to less experienced employees * Project manages investigations, including building consensus with multiple senior leaders to stay on schedule. Job Responsibilities Workplan Data Platform Ownership * Own the architecture, performance, and reliability of Workplan databases and supporting systems (e.g., Snowflake, SAP integrations, Power BI dataflows). * Oversee data flows, integrations, and backend logic that support Workplan ingestion, transformation, and reporting. Data Engineering Leadership * Lead and develop a team of data engineers, analysts, and technical contributors responsible for data pipelines, transformations, and automation. * Set engineering standards for scalable data pipelines, data modeling, and data quality enforcement. * Oversee design and implementation of: * Automated data ingestion and transformation workflows * Data models supporting reporting and analytics * Data quality monitoring * Partner with engineering and IT teams to modernize tooling and leverage cloud platforms. Data Strategy & Roadmap Development * Develop and execute a multi-year data roadmap aligned to Workplan strategy and enterprise data priorities. * Define and prioritize initiatives across: * Data architecture and integration * Reporting and self-service analytics * Data governance and standards * Automation and efficiency improvements * Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve scalability through tooling and automation (e.g., self-service tools, standardized data models). Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment * Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex data issues, discrepancies, and data-related decision-making. * Communicate data strategy, system health, and key risks to senior leadership. * Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, including: * Metadata and data dictionary management * Best practices for Data Architecture and Data Pipelines to reduce technical debt Tools, Analytics & Innovation * Enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users i.e. Powerpages, Streamlit, Fabric Data Lake Houses * Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance data capabilities and scalability. * Promote innovation in how data is used to drive decision-making across the organization. Qualifications Minimum: * Bachelor's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience * Job-related experience, 8 years * 3 years of leadership experience managing technical teams Desired: * Experience managing enterprise data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SAP, cloud data ecosystems) * Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data governance frameworks * Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders * Bachelor's Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience * Prior experience with Electric / Gas Distribution or Electric Transmission programs or projects. * Masters Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience * Leadership experience, 5 years
