Job Details The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing quality assurance and quality control programs across utility-scale solar construction projects. This role ensures all civil, mechanical, and electrical work is performed in accordance with project specifications, contract requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance. This position works closely with Construction Managers, Superintendents, Engineering, and Safety teams to drive quality execution from pre-construction through commissioning and project turnover. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans and inspection test plans (ITPs) Oversee quality control for civil (earthwork, foundations, trenching), mechanical (racking, tracker systems), and electrical (DC/AC wiring, inverters, substations) scopes Manage inspection processes, documentation, and quality reporting Conduct field audits and site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications Coordinate third-party testing agencies and inspectors Track, document, and close non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions Support commissioning and final turnover documentation Review submittals, RFIs, and engineering revisions for quality impact Train field personnel on quality standards and best practices Monitor subcontractor performance and enforce contract quality requirements Maintain document control and turnover packages Qualifications 5 years of QA/QC experience in utility-scale solar, power generation, or heavy civil construction Strong understanding of solar plant construction including trackers, modules, inverters, MV systems, and substations Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, one-lines, and specifications Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and applicable industry standards Experience with quality management systems and documentation control Strong leadership and communication skills OSHA 30 preferred Willingness to travel to project sites (often 75–100% site-based depending on assignment) Interested in hearing more?
