Head of Revenue Technology & Architecture (San Francisco)

Mercury is building a complete financial stack for ambitious businesses. Since we launched in 2019, our customer base has grown to over 200,000 startups and small businesses from all around the world. Within the Revenue Strategy & Operations group, the Platforms & Infrastructure team owns the systems, workflows, and processes that power Mercury's revenue organization across Sales, Partnerships, and Account Management. Our revenue org has grown past 100 sellers and is on a path to more than double. At that scale, our systems are how we change behavior and drive efficiency, and AI is fundamentally rewriting how these systems get built. We're looking for a leader to take advantage of that shift. Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC. Role Overview Own the strategy and execution for the systems, workflows, and processes that power Mercury's revenue organization, serving three teams with distinct needs: Sales, Partnerships, and Account Management. Take business problems, design solutions, and ship them fast. We iterate in weeks, not quarters, and we'd rather put something imperfect in front of users and improve it than wait for the perfect build. Rebuild our revenue stack AI-first, both in what we ship (automation, scoring, agent-driven workflows) and in how we build it (using AI to do the development itself). Be a hands-on builder. You'll bring a strong point of view, get into the work, and actively shape and design solutions alongside your team. Translate fluently between business and technical. You'll deeply understand what the revenue org is trying to accomplish, then flip gears and architect how to get there. Lead and grow a tenured team of admins, engineers, and architects, guiding them to a high-speed, iterative operating model. Deliver value on top of imperfect foundations, while improving those foundations over time. Develop and leverage strong stakeholder and partner relationships to build consensus and drive impact. Qualifications 15 years working in and around revenue systems, GTM systems, or revenue architecture in a B2B environment, ideally at a revenue org of 250 sellers. 5 years managing teams. Experience at a product-led company with a sales or revenue motion layered on top. A track record of taking a business problem end to end: ingest it, design the solution, implement it, and do it quickly. Hands-on experience deploying AI into GTM systems. If you've rebuilt an AI-powered GTM stack, that's our gold standard. Salesforce fluency is useful, but your career doesn’t need to be defined by it. We're looking for people who took the non-standard route: product managers, systems builders, operators who taught themselves the technical side. Proven change leadership: you've brought experienced teams through significant shifts in how they work. Strong conviction and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders while staying close to the work. Compensation & Benefits The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits. Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers. Salary Ranges US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $242,600 - 303,300 US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $218,300 - 273,000 Equal Employment Opportunity Mercury values diversity & belonging and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. All individuals seeking employment at Mercury are considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected characteristic. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the recruitment process for applicants with disabilities or special needs. If you need assistance, or an accommodation, please let your recruiter know once you are contacted about a role. LI-TG1 J-18808-Ljbffr

Field CTO (San Francisco)

Field CTO Weave (YC W25) is building the definitive platform for understanding and improving how engineering teams work. We believe the way engineering output is measured today is fundamentally broken and that modern AI can give teams a far more accurate and actionable view of productivity, impact and collaboration. Trusted by 200 customers such as Robinhood, Rho, PostHog and Browserbase, we’ve delivered consistent double-digit month-over-month revenue growth since May and are looking to accelerate our growth. As Weave’s Field CTO, you’ll be the technical face of Weave in the market. Part developer advocate, part executive advisor, part keynote speaker. You’ll represent Weave at conferences and conventions around the world, earn the trust of CTOs and VPs of Engineering, and shape how the industry thinks about measuring engineering in the age of AI. We’ve raised a $4.2M seed round (https://workweave.dev/blog/announcing-our-4-2m-seed-round) and are backed by Moonfire, Burst Capital and Y Combinator (W25). This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor and shape how millions of engineers and leaders understand engineering work. WHAT WE’RE BUILDING Weave is rethinking engineering output from first principles. We use AI to: Understand how engineers actually work (not just what they ship) Surface meaningful insights about productivity, quality, collaboration and impact Help teams improve outcomes without vanity metrics or surveillance Our goal is not to optimize for “more output,” but for better engineering. THE TEAM YOU’LL WORK WITH You’ll work directly with: Adam (CEO) — leads sales and customer discovery. Adam is a former sales executive at multiple high-growth startups and deeply embedded with customers and scaled multiple sales teams from $0-30M in ARR. Andrew (CTO) — previously a founding engineer at Causal, MIT alum. Andrew is deeply committed to providing the mentorship, ownership and growth he had as an early engineer. This is a small, intense, highly collaborative team. You will have real ownership from day one. THE ROLE This isn’t a traditional developer advocate role. It sits a level above. The closest thing we can describe it as is a mashup of keynote speaker, executive advisor, researcher, and evangelist. You’ll own Weave’s technical voice in the market: on stage at conferences, in rooms with CTOs deciding how their org should measure engineering, and in the research and writing that shapes how the industry thinks about productivity in the AI era. Engineering leaders everywhere are asking the same question: “is AI actually making my team better?” The person who answers it credibly will define the category. We want that person to be you, wearing a Weave shirt. You won’t carry a quota, but you will move the business. You’ll be measured on whether the market knows Weave, trusts Weave, and buys Weave because of the authority you build. RESPONSIBILITIES Be Weave’s face in the field. Keynotes, conference talks, panels, meetups, podcasts, conventions. You’ll build and run our field presence, deciding where we show up and making every appearance count. Advise engineering executives. Act as a trusted, vendor-neutral-feeling advisor to CTOs and VPs of Engineering during evaluations, POCs, and long after the deal closes. Partner with sales. Provide executive air cover on strategic deals. Translate what Weave does (AI code analysis, integrations, velocity modeling) into narratives executives repeat internally. Feed the field back into product. You’ll hear what hundreds of engineering leaders actually struggle with. Bring it home and sharpen our roadmap with it. Build the community. Cultivate lasting relationships with the engineering leaders we want as customers, champions, and friends of Weave. Be flexible: some days you’re keynoting a conference, others you’re whiteboarding a rollout with a customer’s CTO or writing the talk that books the next ten meetings. QUALIFICATIONS MUST-HAVE 15 years in software engineering, including senior technical leadership. You’ve been a CTO, VP of Engineering, Deputy/Field CTO, or run a platform or developer productivity org. Deep, lived expertise in developer productivity. You have real opinions on DORA, SPACE, and DevEx, and on where they break down in the age of AI, because you’ve owned the problem yourself. You write exceptionally well. Your posts, research, or essays have an audience because the thinking is sharp, not because the SEO is. Executive credibility. CTOs take your call, take your advice, and remember your name. Self-directed and wired for speed. You build the playbook; nobody hands it to you. Based in SF (in office when you’re not on the road) with regular travel to conferences, conventions, and customers. NICE-TO-HAVE Prior Field CTO, Chief Evangelist, or DevRel leadership role at a developer tools or infrastructure company You’ve delivered keynotes or major conference talks and can command a room of skeptical engineers as easily as a boardroom. An existing network of CTOs and VPs of Engineering who already trust you Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles as a technical executive WHY JOIN Competitive pay early equity Health/vision/dental insurance covered Free lunch/dinners/snacks Yearly team offsite with regular team events Yearly $500 learning/development stipend Get to work in SF with one of the fastest moving teams (99% percentile code output) ABOUT THE INTERVIEW 15-minute intro call 45-minute interview with our CEO, Adam 30-minute interview with our CTO, Andrew Give us a talk: a 20-minute presentation on engineering productivity in the AI era, delivered as you would on a conference stage Two reference calls J-18808-Ljbffr
