OR/Sterile Processing Liaison - Needham

*One time Sign on Bonus of $8,500.00 Schedule: 6am-2:30pm Position Summary: The SPD/OR Liaison will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations for their designated specialty surgical service. They may assist in developing, recommending, and implementing internal standards, policies, and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care and sterile processing. Liaisons will participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees, and special projects. Key Responsibilities: Supports Operating Room (OR) staff by verifying instrument kits are ready before surgery start times. Attends daily meetings with OR Specialty Coordinators to forecast instrument needs up to five days in advance. Monitors daily surgical case flow and communicates emergent or additional instrument needs to SPD, resolving issues as needed. Conducts daily audits of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including case cart and kit audits, room visits, and post-case reviews. Analyzes KPI data to identify trends and operational issues in the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Coordinates communication and planning for priority instruments and turnaround times, informing the surgical team of any delays. Responds promptly to surgical team calls regarding instrumentation problems or urgent needs. Cleans and processes equipment per manufacturer’s instructions and safety protocols. Ensures instrumentation is processed and available for next-day, on-call, or weekend surgeries. Assists with documentation, kit updates, pick-list revisions, and maintaining accurate instrument count sheets with coordinators and physicians. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED required Associate’s Degree Preferred Required Area of Study in Sterile Processing Preferred Area of Study in Sterile Processing and Surgical Technology Experience: Minimum of three years' experience in Sterile Processing required Five years of Sterile Processing experience preferred Licensure/ Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required SPD Leadership, Instrument Tech, and Endoscopy certification through a nationally recognized accreditation association preferred. About the Position Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of complex HVAC systems, boiler plants, and chiller plants for commercial and institutional facilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, boiler, and chiller plant systems for commercial and institutional projects. Develop conceptual and detailed engineering solutions that meet client objectives for performance, efficiency, sustainability, and cost. Prepare and review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, plans, specifications, and construction documents. Collaborate with project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and other design professionals throughout all project phases. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers. Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for quality and accuracy. Conduct field investigations, site visits, and provide engineering support during construction. Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project budgets. Support clients by providing practical, innovative engineering solutions that improve building performance. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 10 years of HVAC/mechanical design experience with a consulting engineering firm or MEP contractor. Extensive experience designing commercial and institutional HVAC systems. Strong experience with boiler plants and chiller plant design. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (such as Trane TRACE 700 or newer). Willingness to travel up to 25% for project and client site visits. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects. Passion for mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
