Position Overview Position title: Director Salary range: $200,000 - $400,000 (base $150,100 - $241,400). Off‑scale salaries are awarded as needed to remain competitive. Job Summary The University of California San Diego seeks an internationally recognized leader in data sciences to serve as Director of the Halcolu Data Science Institute (HDSI). The Director will propel HDSI into its next phase of growth, leveraging the institute’s resources to advance high‑impact research and graduate education. Translate strategic messaging into content outputs across earned, digital, email, web, fundraising, and organizing channels. Draft and edit talking points, social media copy, website copy, newsletters, remarks, and other written communications as assigned. Develop integrated content toolkits that translate communications priorities into ready-to-use messaging, graphics, videos, social media copy, talking points, and other campaign assets for use across the DFL. Creative & Brand Leadership Design digital and print graphics, including social media graphics, infographics, event branding, flyers, presentations, signage, and campaign materials. Serve as steward of the Minnesota DFL brand by maintaining high visual and editorial standards across communications. Develop templates and creative assets that strengthen consistency across the organization. Video & Multimedia Clip and produce short- and long-form video content for daily use in social media.
