Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care \n Discipline: RN \n Start Date: 10/12/2026 \n Duration: 12 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, nights \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n St. Marks Hospital \n Salt Lake City, Utah \n Travel RN \n NICU 675 \n 7:00PM-7:00AM \n 13 Weeks \n Unit Information: St. Mark s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) \n Location: Salt Lake City, UT \n Address: 1200 E 3900 S, SLC UT 84124 \n Floor: 1st \n Building: Women s Pavilion \n General Information \n Tell us about the unit(s): \n Number of Beds - 32 \n Number of Staff – 46 \n Type of staff: \n o Day Shift – 1 charge, 5-7 RN s, 1 PCT/clerk, 1 RT \n o Night Shift – 1 charge, 5-7 RN s, 1 RT \n Patient Ratios – 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 – depending on acuity \n Type of equipment – Alaris pumps, Medela milk warmers, Natus and Client phototherapy lights, Client Panda warmers/Giraffes, CareFusion Oscillator, Getinge (Servo) Ventilator, Fisher and Pykel Bubble CPAP \n EMR - Epic \n Typical hiring profile \n Skill Set Most recruited for: \n Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. \n Minimum 2 years recent Level 3 or greater NICU experience \n Experience caring for premature and critically ill neonates, including infants requiring respiratory support \n Competency in management of patients receiving CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation \n Experience with umbilical lines (UAC/UVC), PICC lines, and central line management \n Experience administering and monitoring parenteral nutrition (TPN/lipids), IV medications, and neonatal drips \n Proficiency in neonatal assessment, stabilization, and recognition of clinical deterioration \n Epic EMR experience \n Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first. \n Experience in Level IV NICU or regional referral NICU \n Experience caring for micro-preemies ( \n Experience with high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV) and inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) \n Experience assisting with and caring for infants after PICC insertion, chest tube placement, and neonatal procedures \n Experience with therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) protocols \n Experience caring for infants with hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) \n List typical procedures performed on unit(s): \n Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization \n Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) management \n High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) therapy \n Mechanical ventilation management \n Surfactant administration \n Umbilical venous catheter (UVC) and umbilical arterial catheter (UAC) line management \n PICC line management and maintenance \n Peripheral IV insertion and management \n Blood product administration \n Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and lipid administration \n Phototherapy for hyperbilirubinemia \n Nasogastric (NG) and orogastric (OG) tube placement and feeding \n Therapeutic hypothermia (cooling) protocol management \n Neonatal medication and infusion management \n Neonatal sepsis evaluation and treatment \n Discharge planning and caregiver education \n Best personality Fit: \n Team-oriented and collaborative with neonatologists, NNPs, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams \n Calm, focused, and able to prioritize effectively in high-acuity and rapidly changing situations \n Adaptable and self-directed, with the ability to quickly integrate into a new unit and workflow \n Strong critical thinking and attention to detail when caring for fragile neonatal patients \n Excellent communication skills with providers, coworkers, and families \n Compassionate and family-centered, supporting parents through stressful and complex neonatal hospitalizations \n Comfortable caring for both intensive care and feeder-grower patient populations \n Receptive to feedback and committed to maintaining patient safety and quality standards \n Positive attitude with a willingness to assist team members and contribute to unit culture \n Confident and professional when managing emotionally challenging situations \n REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: \n NRP, BLS, STABLE, Current RN License \n Floating Area(s): \n Well-baby nursery \n Weekends and On call(if any) \n Rotating weekends (4 weekend shifts a month) \n ICURN1 \n TalentBurst, Inc Job ID 26-30164.
