Details\n \n Acute care Telemetry unit- Surgical/Neuro on the 4th floor with 48 beds across two units (4A and 4B) \n Patient population includes COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, TIA, and CVA patients as well as general, orthopedic, and spinal surgical patients \n Patient ratio of 1:5, with nurse aide support at 1:10-15 \n Uses Cerner EMR \n Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7pm-7:30am with a 30-minute unpaid lunch \n 36 guaranteed hours per week over a 13-week assignment \n Every other weekend requirement with 2 weekends required per 4-week schedule \n Self-scheduling used, finalized by manager, with schedules made 4 weeks at a time \n No call or standby requirements \n Floating required to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified, with priority as first to float \n Tele is monitored remotely by monitor techs on the 3rd floor; RNs required to interpret strips and sign at least once per shift \n Both charge nurse and house supervisor roles present; charge nurse does not take a patient assignment \n RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and some breathing treatments \n Requirements\n \n Active AZ or Compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted \n BLS and ACLS certifications required, no pending certifications accepted \n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required \n Experience reading basic telemetry strips required \n Experience with general and orthopedic surgical patients, CVA, and TIA preferred \n Cerner EMR experience recommended due to limited orientation time \n Copy of driver's license required for consideration \n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire \n Additional Information\n \n Interpret and sign telemetry strips at least once per shift \n RNs are not required to titrate drips; Diltiazem is administered at a set rate \n One shift of unit-specific orientation provided \n Navy blue scrubs required \n Holiday coverage required for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving, typically 2 days and 1 evening or 2 evenings and a day \n Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam before an offer can be confirmed \n Pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes administered on first day of orientation \n Candidates who fail the Relias and/or sterile technique test twice will be ineligible for 6 months \n Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with this health system within the past year, though PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable \n Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as verified by driver's license address \n \n \n American Traveler Job ID P-755315.
