Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Respiratory Therapist \n Discipline: Allied Health Professional \n Start Date: ASAP \n Duration: 13 weeks \n 36 hours per week \n Shift: 12 hours, nights \n Employment Type: Travel \n \n Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Summary:\n We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing pulmonary care for critically ill, chronically ill, and non-critical adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction. This role requires minimal supervision and includes performing patient assessments and developing respiratory care plans. You will conduct various technical and diagnostic procedures throughout the hospital. Responsibilities:\n \n Meet the applicable competencies for the role including Leadership skills. \n Respond to emergencies, including Code Blue and White calls. \n Manage airways with procedures such as nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning. \n Deliver aerosolized medications effectively. \n Set up and operate ventilators and manage patient care related to ventilatory support. \n Conduct oral hygiene for patients as required. \n Place and maintain airway retaining devices. \n Manage airway support devices, including BiPAP and CPAP. \n Administer oxygen delivery and monitor therapy outcomes. \n Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection, and analysis. \n Analyze EKGs and document patient interactions accurately. \n Ensure cleanliness and proper stocking of equipment and supplies. \n Participate in Continuous Assessment Programs and Joint Commission surveys. \n May function as a Shift Leader or Team Leader. \n Utilize advanced practice skills, including gas management, pulmonary function testing, and bronchoscopy assistance. \n Conduct hemodynamic monitoring and waveform analysis. \n Perform nocturnal SpO2 evaluations and polysomnography. \n Execute transport duties for patients as necessary. \n Job Requirements: Education/Skills:\n \n Licensure and certification are required as per local regulations. \n Experience:\n \n 1-3 years of experience preferred in a relevant clinical setting. \n Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:\n \n RT or RCP License in the state of employment. \n BLS certification. \n Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC. \n Work Schedule:\n The role entails night shifts, with the requirement to float between different facilities as needed. Additional Information:\n Every other weekend and holiday work is expected.
