Emergency Care Center Technician Senior - Tyler

Description Summary: Emergency Care Center Technician Senior works with the RNs in the Emergency Room to provide care to patients. They have special skills beyond those of a basic Emergency Technician; for example, they can perform venipuncture, dress wounds, remove staples and sutures, and measure peak expiratory flow rate. Responsibilities: Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Gives basic care to patients in a compassionate manner. Takes and records the following vital signs and reports any change or abnormal findings to the RN: Temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure. Description Summary: Coordinate and perform diagnostic medical imaging procedures for the Department of Ultrasound, assisting the Radiologist utilizing a variety of diagnostic ultrasound equipment, both fixed or mobile. Responsibilities: Perform a variety of high-quality ultrasound procedures including all vascular studies under minimal supervision utilizing diagnostic ultrasound imaging equipment. Documents calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment. Coordinates, organizes, plans and makes quick decisions on emergent cases; evaluates and acts to maintain efficiency and maximize productivity. Assists the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system to pinpoint exact anatomical location(s) of a specified diseased area for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
