How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursing Supervisor who excels in this role: Supports the mission, vision and values of the facility. Assists the Patient Care Team to coordinate delivery of patient care in accordance with the PA State Board of Nursing Licensure requirements and ANA Scopes & Standards of Practice. Serves as a role model and resource in promoting personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and cultural differences following the Relationship Based Care (RBC) Model. (The RBC model is a delivery system in which the patient and family are the central focus.) Maintains accountability and productivity for appropriate staffing. Collaborates with all Nursing departments to provide appropriate staffing as indicated by the departmental staffing plans. Promotes safety according to organizational policies and industry standards. Demonstrates understanding and knowledge of Patient's Rights and Responsibilities. Promotes problem solving for intradepartmental and interdepartmental concerns and acts as a resource for staff. Leads huddles, briefs, debriefs and interdisciplinary rounding during off shifts, weekends and holidays. Actively participates in daily leadership briefs by providing an adequate report out as assigned. Assists with the review, creation and implementation of Nursing policies. Assists Case Management with duties on off shifts, weekends and holidays. Organizes the ordering and delivery of supplies and equipment for the Nursing departments as assigned. Prepares preliminary support/investigation of patient/family/physician/employee concerns. Notification and documentation to Risk Management and Regulatory Bodies, as required, regarding patient or infrastructure incidents. Investigates incidents and processes reports, as required, in SRM and/or to the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority. Responds to emergencies (i.e., codes, strokes, traumas, etc.) and leads the coordination of care in conjunction with the Physician. Appropriately places patients in assigned beds according to acuity, patient needs and Nursing staff competencies. Develops assignment plans for all Nursing departments. Serves in Supervisory role for all hospital departments during off shifts, weekends and holidays. Follows the appropriate chain of command by notifying the appropriate Hospital Administrator and Chief of Staff of instances when indicated. Assists in the recognition of improvement opportunities and collaborates with departmental Managers to plan accordingly. Maintains confidentiality of all patient, hospital and employee related information. Collaborates with Physicians and staff to provide appropriate patient care and to identify areas of need in regards to education, etc. Participates in continuing education programs specific to role, including leadership development. Acts as an active member of the Team Management Committee and attends a minimum of six meetings annually. Completes required annual education. Collaborates with Administration and departmental Managers to accomplish performance improvement goals. Participates in developing and providing education to staff as needed/required. Conducts yearly employee performance evaluations as assigned. Maintains compliance in data reporting for responsible role to state, regulatory agencies and committees. Tracks and trends data as assigned. Reports out assigned metrics at appropriate committee meetings and includes action plans. Serves as lead for additional administrative roles as assigned such as Employee Health Supervisor, Chest Pain Coordinator, Trauma Program Manager, Emergency Medical Services Liaison, Infection Control Preventionist, Stroke Coordinator. What we're looking for Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school.
