What We Offer: Novant Health Ortho Sports Medicine Eastover is seeking a Float Rad Tech. The Radiologic Technologist I works independently and/or assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the ambulatory setting. Performs direct patient care. Collects data to determine correct procedure /protocol to be followed. Performs screening processes for medication reconciliation and allergy confirmation. Reviews orders for clarity and verifies as needed. Performs and assists the physicians in performing radiology procedures. Maintains professional competencies and complies with needed education requirements as dictated by their credentialing body. Maintains clinical competencies based on departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Works with radiologist to develop and maintain standard protocols for routine procedures. Moves patient from a wheelchair or a stretcher to the imaging table and positions the patient for best imaging results. Moving the patient may require using aides such as lift equipment or a smoothie board. In some cases, a minimum of two people is required to insure safety of the patient as well as the employees. Depending on the case load, this may occur 10 to 20 times a day. What We're Looking For: Education: Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program.
