What We Offer: Novant Health Ortho Sports Medicine Eastover is seeking a Float Rad Tech. The Radiologic Technologist I works independently and/or assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the ambulatory setting. Performs direct patient care. Collects data to determine correct procedure /protocol to be followed. Performs screening processes for medication reconciliation and allergy confirmation. Reviews orders for clarity and verifies as needed. Performs and assists the physicians in performing radiology procedures. Maintains professional competencies and complies with needed education requirements as dictated by their credentialing body. Maintains clinical competencies based on departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Works with radiologist to develop and maintain standard protocols for routine procedures. Moves patient from a wheelchair or a stretcher to the imaging table and positions the patient for best imaging results. Moving the patient may require using aides such as lift equipment or a smoothie board. In some cases, a minimum of two people is required to insure safety of the patient as well as the employees. Depending on the case load, this may occur 10 to 20 times a day. What We're Looking For: Education: Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program, required. Experience: Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology, preferred. Responsible for doing all other duties that may be assigned at the discretion of the manager and/or the Medical Director in addition to proper billing of the procedures and prioritizing patient scheduling. Additional Skills (preferred): Pediatric and fetal experience preferred 1. Knowledge of normal and congenital cardiac anatomy and physiology. 2. Knowledge of palliative repairs of congenital heart defects. 3. Knowledge of adult congenital imaging with current and formerly used palliative repairs. 4. Knowledge of genetic syndromes and associated congenital heart defects. 5. Knowledge of arrythmias and associated congenital heart defects. Additional skills preferred for fetal: 1. Knowledge of fetal cardiac anatomy and physiology. 2. Knowledge of basic obstetrical ultrasound. 3. Knowledge of genetic syndromes and associated congenital heart defects. 4. Knowledge of maternal medication/drug use and associated congenital heart defects and/or arrhythmias. Prefer credentialed in Fetal Echo via ARDMS (w/in 1 yr from date of hire) What You'll Do: The Pediatric Echocardiographer performs echocardiography studies for patients from the antenatal period to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease, as well as adult congenital heart disease, calculates, interprets, and analyzes the hemodynamic data served from echocardiography studies.
