Job Description Job Summary and Qualifications The Sepsis Coordinator/RN Nurse Reviewer is a Registered Nurse (RN) whose responsibilities include coordination of the Sepsis Program including but not limited to: ensuring early goal directed therapy requirements are met, assessing educational needs of staff in the designated clinical departments and assist in the development of sepsis educational programs, staff educational materials, while maintaining integrity and confidentiality. The Sepsis Coordinator/RN Nurse Reviewer is responsible for the accurate and timely collection of clinical data, verification and updating of the information compiled, and sharing prepared sepsis and other quality management program data with key stakeholders. The RN Clinical Reviewer is also responsible for utilizing ICD-10, Injury Severity Coding and QA/PI knowledge to abstract information. He/She will assess the quality of care provided by using evidence-based tools for the systematic audit of the Sepsis and Core Measures specific patients’ population during the phases of care, from pre-hospital response through rehabilitation. Providing assistance to the Medical staff and all hospital departments in implementing and sustaining their performance improvement processes. Performs a variety of technical and specialized tasks involved with the current and retrospective evaluation of patient care. What qualifications you will need: Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire. Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
