Job Description Job Description Position Summary The HVAC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards to support critical production processes, environmental controls, and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily HVAC maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Maintain and troubleshoot complex HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, cleanrooms, and process ventilation systems. Ensure proper environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, air quality, pressure differentials) for production areas and controlled environments. Collaborate with engineering, operations, EHS, and facility teams to support manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations. Oversee HVAC-related capital projects, upgrades, and system improvements. Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and maintenance records (CMMS systems). Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and contractor work. Respond to emergency situations and equipment failures to minimize downtime and production impact. Conduct system inspections and audits to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. 5–8 years of HVAC experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role. Experience in a chemical manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of industrial HVAC systems, building automation systems, and process ventilation.
