We admit a vast array of patients including Strokes with and without TNK administration, head trauma, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, ICP monitoring, EVD placement/monitoring, and organ procurement. From a surgical standpoint, we care for all patients out of PACU (GI, ORTHO, SPINAL, etc.) with exception to any open hearts. We also admit medical ICU patients and on occasion will take overflow cardiac patients. The floor often has many bedside procedures; chest tube, bronchoscopy, and EGD, to name a few. Description Summary: A Registered Professional Dialysis Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care through the processes of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role actively participates in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for each patient, providing both direct and indirect care throughout the dialysis treatment process, including pre- and post-treatment assessments and the administration of prescribed medications. In addition, the Registered Professional Dialysis Nurse ensures the safe and efficient operation of dialysis equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital and departmental policy, applying principles of stewardship to minimize waste, optimize use of resources, and preserve the integrity of supplies and equipment.
