QA Tech/ QC Technician Quality assurance (QA) technicians ensure company and customer quality standards are being met. The work is under the supervision of the quality assurance manager where they conduct quality tests, perform inspection checks, calibrate equipment, and communicate test results. Job Duties: Responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative testing of in-process and finished goods. Tests include water activity, moisture analysis, shrink film integrity, finished product grading, shelf-life testing (sensory analysis). Verify facility scales, cooler/freezer temperatures, calibrate thermometer and cutting knives, bulk sifter integrity and tailings, metal detectors, check weighers, finished product weights, seal integrity and coders. Perform audits of pre-production (scaling) raw ingredient preparation for accuracy to formula, mixer adherence to mixing process and batch integrity, depositing operator consistent application to operational standards - cup weight, drop weights, bake color, and bake internal temperatures, and packaging operations including seal integrity, product coding, metal detectors and check weighers, and proper Tl Hi for cases on pallets. Conduct package quality inspections and isolate products that do not meet standards. Conduct review of all inbound ingredients and packaging to ensure compliance with specifications. Perform as needed microbiological testing of all food surface contact points. Maintain enforcement of all company Good Manufacturing Practices {GM P's) and policies. Maintain high lab housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contamination. Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in science related field preferred. QA experience required (2 year minimum). Bakery industry experience is a plus. Quality Control/Assurance work experience is preferred. Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials (sanitation and lab equipment cleaners). Must be available for all shift work and have reliable transportation.
