Deadline for Submitting Applications: 02/15/2026 Job Summary Install, test, maintain and repair fire safety systems that ensure the safety of building occupants in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. Perform mechanical/electrical work. Essential Functions Oversee the installation of fire alarm systems and supporting software in all DMACC buildings. This would require compliance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) safety codes and standards and ensure the devices meet all local and federal building codes. Working with Information Systems staff to ensure proper operation of the ONYX fire alarm local area network. Oversee the repairs of all fire alarm systems and respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of normal working hours. Provide training and written procedures to Mechanical/Electrical Technicians and Security Officers procedures to respond to system malfunctions. Ensure the systems and equipment continue to work according to their specifications by overseeing semi-annual testing and inspection of fire and tornado alarm tornado systems. This would include the purchase of diagnostic tools and preparation of fire alarm systems service reports for each building. Complete Mechanical/Electrical Technician duties installing and repairing electrical, lighting, plumbing, HVAC and related college equipment on all campuses in accordance with regulations and codes. Assist Automation System Analyst in troubleshooting malfunctions; repair and installation of energy management controls on all campuses to ensure proper operation of equipment for energy consumption savings.
