Conduct comprehensive health assessments for new hires, including drug screening, medical history review, lab work, chest x-rays (if indicated), and immunization verification. Administer and manage the TB skin screening program in compliance with state guidelines. Perform respirator fit testing and training as needed. Promote and administer annual influenza and other vaccines, ensuring co-workers are informed about contraindications, side effects, and precautions. Provide first aid and follow-up care for on-the-job injuries, collaborating with departments and supervisors to support recovery and return-to-work plans. May serve as Workers' Compensation coordinator, managing injury documentation, treatment facilitation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. Maintain strict confidentiality of all co-worker health records and sensitive information. Compile and present monthly and annual reports to support compliance with Joint Commission, state health departments, and other regulatory bodies. Stay current on Co-worker Health trends and regulations, updating policies and procedures accordingly. Participate in and support wellness, needlestick safety, and environmental safety committees. Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse -NIGHTS 7pm-7am

Find your calling at Mercy! Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Position Details: Qualifications: Associates Degree: ADN required. Current employees hired before Sept 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role and 1-2 yrs of experience is preferred. Bachelors Degree: Preferred for all nurses hired after Sept 1, 2013. Nurses hired after this date without a BSN must complete degree within 5 years of their hire date. No experience necessary. On the job training is provided. Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN). Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Experience: Certifications: - Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses) - OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization) - S.T.A.B.L.E.
