A Brief Overview Provides strategic and operational leadership for Avera Medical Group Radiology, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered imaging interpretation services. This role oversees staffing and demand management, radiologist credentialing, contract administration, and vendor relationships. The Director facilitates key clinical meetings, conflict resolution, and peer learning initiatives in collaboration with physician leaders. Additionally, the role drives business development, evaluates business and performance data, and serves as a liaison to other departments intersecting with AMG Radiology. What you will do Develops and implements short- and long-range strategies for radiology services in alignment with the mission and vision of Avera. Leads with professionalism and empathy, ensuring respectful, courteous interactions with Avera patients, families, staff, and physicians while fostering a welcoming environment. Promotes collaboration and teamwork, building strong interdepartmental relationships and resolving conflicts constructively to support high-quality, integrated care. Drives a culture of service excellence, representing the department positively to the community and encouraging staff engagement in team-based decisions and public relations efforts. Monitors productivity levels and work functions to ensure efficiency, proper staffing levels, and proper resource utilization through data and process analysis. Develops an integrated patient care experience by participating in clinic, hospital or community committees, teams and task forces to meet the unique needs of patients and families seeking radiology services in the community. Represents radiology services in hospitals, community, and industry-wide organizations, strengthening Avera's visibility and reputation. Maintains oversight of departmental contracts and vendor partnerships. Serves as facilitator for product evaluation. Demonstrates the ability to establish benchmark goals to guide the department's activities and effectively deal with variances. This includes developing data, analysis, setting thresholds, and developing action plans which resolve discrepancies. Maintains an accurate and acute knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards. Knows and addresses to applicable laws and regulations. Reviews and updates departmental policies, protocols and practices to reflect current regulations. In collaboration with compliance and quality leaders, assures the development and maintenance of corporate compliance plan for accreditation visits. Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in clinic administration. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
