Gastroenterology Physician

The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, a 685-bed facility and level I trauma center, is actively recruiting a full-time General Gastroenterology Hospitalist to join a busy practice of 9 Gastroenterologists in a collegial atmosphere. 7 days on/7 days off hospital based inpatient gastroenterology role with inpatient consults and procedures only. Accompanied by a second gastroenterologist and 3 GI APPs rounding from Monday through Friday. 1 GI APP rounding each weekend (1/2 day Saturday and Sunday). Average 10-15 new consults and 4-8 procedures per day. EUS/ERCP welcomed but not required . There will be EUS and ERCP coverage provided by three advanced endoscopy colleagues. Anesthesia supported endoscopy unit with a dedicated inpatient endoscopy suite. Interested candidates should be BE/BC. If desired, there are opportunities for teaching medical students, family medicine, and internal medicine residents with a goal of bringing a GI fellowship to the hospital in the near future.
