Division Chief, Pediatric Otolaryngology (ENT) CHOC/Rady Children s Health Orange County, California Position Highlights CHOC Children s is a stand alone children s hospital in a large, growing market with academic affiliation with the University of California-Irvine School of Medicine. (UCI). Division grown from 1 to 12 faculty (9 fellowship-trained pediatric otolaryngologists) in 14 years Comprehensive pediatric ENT program: airway, otology, cochlear implants, sleep, complex head & neck, craniofacial, reconstruction Among the largest pediatric cochlear implant programs in California Regional leader in hypoglossal nerve stimulation (Inspire) for pediatric sleep apnea in children with Down syndrome Busy surgical service and has the largest referral volume at CHOC Children's Hospital Highly collaborative, ethical, family-like division culture Opportunity to build a new Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship and expand clinical/translational research Position Description Pediatric Sub-Specialty Faculty (PSF) and CHOC Children s is recruiting a Division Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology to lead a mature, high-volume, and rapidly expanding pediatric ENT division. The Division Chief will provide a supportive, hand on atmosphere for the faculty while also providing strategic, clinical, academic, and operational leadership for a program that serves as the only exclusively pediatric ENT group in Orange County and one of the most comprehensive pediatric ENT services in Southern California. Key responsibilities include: Leading and growing clinical programs and geographic reach Overseeing faculty recruitment, mentorship, and development Optimizing clinic and OR access in partnership with hospital leadership Expanding resident education (with UCI) and developing a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship Advancing a clinical and translational research agenda with institutional support Working with PSF leadership to be sure Division aligns with company values Qualifications Required: MD/DO (or equivalent) Completion of ACGME-accredited Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery residency Completion of Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship Board certified/eligible in Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery Eligibility for California medical licensure Typically 5 7 years post-fellowship experience in Pediatric Otolaryngology Demonstrated clinical excellence and leadership experience Preferred: Experience in a children s hospital environment Track record in faculty mentorship, program building, and clinical/translational research Active involvement in ASPO, AAO-HNS, or related societies Leadership style that emphasizes team success, integrity, and collaboration Compensation Competitive salary, including a leadership stipend for the Division Chief role, benefits and shares in PSF.
