We are hiring traveling contract electricians at apprentice and journeyman levels to wire and integrate modular power systems that ship to data center clients across North America. All work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled shop — no jobsite, no weather, no travel between sites. Compensation Apprentice Electrician: $26.70–$44.50/hr (level assigned based on verified experience and skills assessment) Journeyman Electrician: $50.00–$55.00/hr $130/day tax-free per diem for every shift worked 8 hours Hit 60 hours in a week and the 7th day of per diem is paid with no additional time on the clock — $910/week in tax-free per diem Over $23,660 in tax-free per diem across the 6-month contract Weekly pay, direct deposit, overtime paid at time-and-a-half Per Diem Eligibility Under IRS travel rules, contractors whose primary residence is 60 miles from the worksite qualify for tax-free per diem. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or arc gas welding equipment. Weld metal materials to piping systems equipment using the appropriate welding procedure for the various equipment and metal types involved. Identify all equipment for job and process. Identify all safety risks and requirements. Physical Demands Will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs. Will work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work from platforms using the appropriate fall protection requirements. Work Environment Must be able to work in weathering conditions including heat conditions while wearing appropriate PPE. Job Description Job Description Service Technician – Lighting & Electrical The Service Technician – Lighting & Electrical is responsible for performing electrical service work, lighting maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and installations for a variety of commercial and industrial customers and facilities. This role includes diagnosing and repairing electrical systems, lighting controls, motor controls, programmable controllers, pump stations, and related electrical equipment. The ideal candidate is experienced in electrical service work, able to work independently in the field, and committed to providing safe, high-quality workmanship and customer service. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical circuits, lighting systems, and electrical equipment. Diagnose and repair lighting controls, computerized motor controls, programmable controllers, and related systems. Install, maintain, test, and service lighting systems, parking lot and street lighting, pump stations, and other electrical apparatus. Wire, connect, test, and maintain new electrical services and systems. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications. Prepare sketches and layouts showing the location of wiring and electrical equipment. Plan and perform installations to minimize material waste, ensure accessibility for future maintenance, and maintain compliance with safety and electrical codes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment. Identify and procure necessary replacement parts and materials following company procurement procedures. Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, rooftops, and bucket trucks up to 50 feet. Perform physically demanding work while safely operating hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Respond to scheduled service calls and emergency service situations as assigned. Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, local ordinances, and electrical codes. Qualifications The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications: Minimum of 3–5 years of lighting and electrical service experience. Experience in commercial lighting and electrical service work preferred. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems independently and efficiently. Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional demeanor. Must be dependable and punctual. Availability to work Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend work as needed. Ability to safely operate a bucket truck up to 50 feet. Valid and current driver’s license required. CSLT Certification is a plus. Candidates living in or near Downey, Long Beach, Carson, or South Los Angeles areas are preferred.
