Family Medicine - Physician

Job Description Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Medical Center, San Francisco, CA as a Physician - Primary Care! The Physician serves as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) at any Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The CBOC operates under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. Together with his or her team, comprised of a PCP, RN, LVN, and a Clerk, the PCP cares for a panel of approximately patients. The PCP provides primary care services in a team-based setting, including chronic disease management and preventive health. Common diagnoses encountered include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain. Responsibilities: Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for non-surgical adult patients of all ages, without life-threatening complications and with a wide variety of diseases, injuries, and disorders. Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Collaborate with/oversee mid-level providers such as other nurse practitioners and works collaboratively with other specialties (and subspecialties) in and outside of the VA system to manage or co-manage patients' health. Emergency Medicine - Physician

Position description SFVAMC/UCSF Emergency Department Staff Physician The San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) is in search of applicants for Emergency Department Staff Physician positions (either Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine trained). The SFVAHCS is a major teaching site for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and all department of medicine physicians enjoy a joint appointment at UCSF. The SFVAHCS serves approximately 90,000 Veterans through the SFVA Medical Center (SFVAMC) and nine community-based outpatient clinics. The SFVAMC is a tertiary academic medical center with around 5,000 admissions per year, offering a full complement of specialty care services including interventional cardiology and gastroenterology, advanced oncology care, and advanced surgical care including orthopedics and neurosurgery. The Emergency Medicine (EM) section exists within the SFVAHCS Medical Service (Department of Medicine) and maintains an academic affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The SFVAHCS EM section comprises of approximately 12 staff physicians and 2 advanced practice providers who deliver urgent and emergent clinical care for SFVAHCS. EM faculty also are engaged in research and education for UCSF students, internal medicine residents, podiatry residents, psychiatry residents, dental residents, and emergency medicine residents. Successful candidates will be excellent clinicians with a passion for acute care medicine, strong interpersonal and communication skills, an interest in working with and educating UCSF trainees, and committed to providing exceptional care for our Veterans. The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and motivated Physician to serve as the Outpatient Section Chief for the Spinal Cord Injury/Disorders (SCI/D) Service at the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, leadership-focused clinical and administrative role supporting one of the nation's largest and most respected VA healthcare systems. Position Overview The SCI/D Outpatient Section Chief provides both hands-on clinical care and high-level administrative leadership. The role supports four other physicians and a multidisciplinary clinical team providing care to approximately 600 Veterans living with spinal cord injuries or disorders. Primary responsibilities include: Administrative Duties: • Lead outpatient SCI/D physicians and assigned staff. • Participate in staff meetings, committees, accreditation activities, and peer review. • Ensure timely documentation, credentialing maintenance, mandatory training completion. • Manage time and leave processes, clinic cancellations, and clinical coverage needs. • Oversee productivity, access metrics, open encounters, and consult management. • Collaborate with the Assistant Nurse Manager on efficient clinic operations. • Support performance improvement and quality initiatives across the service.
