Job Description Emergency Medicine Physician opening – Conway, SC Position Details Physician-led Emergency Medicine group with a strong culture of collaboration and quality-focused care Immediate openings: - 3 Emergency Medicine physicians (including 2 dedicated nocturnists) Planned growth: - Looking to add 9 physicians over the next 2 years Minimum of 120 hours per month with unlimited additional shifts available 10-hour and 12-hour shift options No call responsibilities Rotations between the main Emergency Department and Free-Standing EDs (exclusive FSED coverage may be considered) Main ED staffing: 5 physicians daily with 2–4 APPs APP support includes Provider-in-Triage coverage Patient flow metrics: - 1.5–1.7 patients per hour in the main ED - LWBS under 1% Shifts structured to support flexibility and long-term work-life balance Clinical Details Main ED: - 42 beds with dedicated high-, moderate-, and low-acuity zones - No hallway beds or corridor boarding Free-Standing EDs: - Site 1: 8 beds with MRI, CT, ultrasound, and full lab - Site 2: 12 beds with CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and full lab 24/7 intensivist coverage with in-house surgical support Chest Pain Center and STEMI program with 24/7 interventional cardiology Level III Trauma Center with low transfer rate (~2%) Approximately 50,000 annual ED visits ACGME teaching environment with optional teaching opportunities and no required lectures Benefits Details Competitive shift-based compensation Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision Supplemental insurance options (short- and long-term disability, accidental, cancer, life) Retirement plan with employer match PSLF-eligible student loan repayment $3,000 annual CME allowance Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Licensure and credentialing fees covered No proximity residency requirement Why This Role Physician-led leadership model built on trust and respect Strong emphasis on quality, safety, and patient-centered care over volume Stable, low-turnover environment with engaged leadership Opportunity to teach and mentor without sacrificing balance Supportive culture where physician input is valued and acted upon Community Details Coastal South Carolina location with a cost of living approximately 9% below the national average Mild climate with approximately 218 sunny days per year Easy access to beaches along the Grand Strand Close proximity to Charleston and other regional hubs Family-friendly communities with abundant outdoor recreation, golf, boating, and dining options
