Job Description Overview Outstanding Radiation Oncologist opportunity at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois with an opportunity for Academic Appointment through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois Opportunity Details The Carle Cancer Institute is excited to add an additional Radiation Oncologist to its campus in Peoria, Illinois. The Radiation Oncologist would have the opportunity to practice external beam radiation therapy. Performing HDR brachytherapy is a future opportunity, if desired. Candidates with experience and new graduates are welcome to apply. Mentorship for new graduates will be provided. The Radiation Oncologist would work with 7 other radiation oncologists at Carle Health across our radiation oncology services teams in Urbana, Normal, and Peoria, Illinois. This position serves the Peoria campus with a practice treating on two linear accelerators: Varian TrueBeam and Varian Edge with micro-MLCs. External beam treatment capabilities available: 3D, IMRT with Rapid Arc, SRS, SRT, SBRT, OSMS/AlignRT surface monitoring, and respiratory gating. Other amenities include CT simulator, MRI, PET/CT, RN disease site specific navigators, dietician, and social work. EMR systems and software consist of EPIC electronic medical record, ARIA radiation oncology record and verify, and Eclipse for treatment planning purposes. Staff includes 1 medical physicist, 1 medical dosimetrist, 5 radiation therapists, 2 RNs, and an onsite department supervisor. The Radiation Oncologist would enjoy a very generous compensation package in a stable Carle Health System, while practicing in a multi-disciplinary setting with weekly Quality Assurance Radiation Oncology Conference (Chart Round), disease site specific Tumor Boards, and a strong support from Medical Oncology and all Surgical Services. In 2018, Carle and the University of Illinois opened their doors to first medical student class at the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
