Pediatric Hospitalist Physician

Our team manages a delivery service in a community setting. We are part of a large health system with a Children's center and Level 3 and 4 NICU available for transfer if higher level of care is needed. We attend deliveries and Emergency center consults when requested on pediatric patients. Deliveries are mainly term deliveries but may involve premature or unstable infants requiring stabilization and transfer to one of our off-campus NICUs. In house, we manage well newborns, and newborns in the special care nursery (managing hypoglycemia, mild respiratory distress/hypoxia, hyperbilirubinemia requiring phototherapy, and infection rule out), as well as patient consultations in our busy emergency center. Typical Pediatric ED consultations that may require transfer to our Children's Center include asthma exacerbation, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, cellulitis/abscess, jaundice, dehydration, and fever/rule out infection in infants.
