Job Description The Fayetteville, NC Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting an outpatient Psychiatrist to care for our Veterans . Clinical Services generally will be needed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except when providing on-call coverage. Clinical duties include performing initial psychiatric evaluations, conducting medication management clinics, referring to other specialties or subspecialties, and providing appropriate treatment and management for general psychiatric problems on a predominantly outpatient basis. Conduct initial psychiatric evaluation of veterans to establish diagnosis and management plan, to make a safety assessment, to develop a treatment plan including medication management, to order pertinent laboratory tests, procedures, and imaging, and to determine appropriate disposition of these patients. Obtain appropriate consultation from specialists and communicate pertinent medical information to other health care providers and to patients. Enter all diagnostic and treatment information, and related reports into the computerized patient record system on the day of the visit.
