Department Overview The people of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. Position Summary This classification is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245, which has over 100 years of experience representing employees at PG&E. This position may be subject to Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) review and approval. Provisional hires will be required to participate in targeted training to achieve journey-level knowledge of electrician roles and responsibilities. Please note: Per letter of agreement (LOA) 23-36; All future employees who are hired, assigned, placed, or bid (after the execution date of this agreement) into one of the classifications listed (in agreement) and in the San Francisco Division ONLY is eligible for a 15% pay premium and will be subject to a “bid lock” for three (3) years. In addition, Peninsula, De Anza, East Bay, and Mission divisions are eligible for a 10% pay premium and will be subject to a “bid lock” for three (3) years. General Construction (GC) For GC positions individuals must be able to travel and transfer to a new headquarters upon request at any time, throughout the entire PG&E service territory with no guarantees as to how long you will be away from home. Reviews, verifies, and modifies prints and electric schematics. Lays out materials for installation, such as conduit, steel, wires, junction boxes, tools, etc. Places orders for supplies as needed. Moves equipment to staging area. Performs safety preparation including performing high voltage protective grounding. Uses power tools and hand tools to install equipment and systems, such as wire terminations, high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical and conduit systems, steel structures, control panels, metering and protection systems, air switches. Sets up rigging. Pulls wire. May operate construction equipment, if qualified, such as crane truck, man lift, boom truck, bucket truck as part of installation, excavation, and compaction. Operates forklift to move and reposition equipment. Uses hand and power tools, such as jackhammers, whackers, and shovels to remove and replace soil. Removes old high voltage equipment, structures and other impediments prior to installation using heavy equipment, rigging and other tools. Drives equipment on the job site (substation). May drive equipment from one job site to another. May drive a company vehicle to pick up tools or other equipment away from the job site. Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition. Removes trash, debris, and excess materials. Picks up and reorganizes tools. Overtime may be required. Position Summary This Senior-level Grid Innovation Delivery Engineer is an electrical engineering thought leader, who builds the knowledge base and collaboratively develops innovative solutions to increase safety, reliability, decarbonization, and affordability. They develop new standards and process documentation to mature the program. Grid Innovation Delivery Engineers also take full ownership of each project’s technical execution throughout its lifecycle: The project engineer iterates on the project design with Engineering Procurement, and Construction (EPC) vendors with attention to safety, customer need, environmental impacts, constructability, and maintenance. They analyze microgrid energy modeling and product sizing to ensure right-fit solutions and compliance with technical and construction specifications, including approval of testing and Go-Live operations. Once a project is live, they continue to support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) through performance analytics, identification of operational improvements, and root cause investigations. A strong applicant will be an organized and diligent collaborator, proactively driving a broad range of technical and cross-functional tasks. They will collaborate closely with other Grid Innovation Engineers, PG&E groups (e.g. project management, environmental, asset management), and external partners. This is a well-rounded engineering role with flexibility to leverage the applicant’s unique skillset to own specific responsibilities and to pursue development opportunities. Experience with electrical engineering design or civil engineering design is a plus. This position is Hybrid, primarily working from your remote office within PG&E’s service territory. Our team develops, iterates, and executes on PG&E’s strategy to connect 3 million electric vehicles (EV) to the grid by 2030 and enabling at least 550 MW of flexible load from VGI applications. CET manages a $0.5B portfolio of transportation electrification (TE) programs to address one of the largest contributors to climate change. We serve PG&E’s customers by deploying electric vehicle programs to increase access to charging infrastructure and reduce total cost of electric vehicle ownership, while educating our customers and pursuing innovative strategies to unlock additional benefits to EV drivers and the grid. Position Summary The CET team is looking for a seasoned Program Manager to lead our Residential EV Charging program. The main goal of the program is to make it easier for income-qualified customers to charge their EVs at home through incentives for panel upgrades and circuit extensions. Additionally, the program aims to provide pathways for customers to install EV charging at their homes while avoiding the need for electrical upgrades. The program connects customers to a list of qualified Trade Allies and provides rebates directly to those partners to allow for a reduction in out-of-pocket costs for the customer upon installation. The successful candidate will also ensure that the key objectives of PG&E’s residential electrification customer experience are integrated into the design and execution of this program. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the program development and implementation, including developing workflows, creating timelines, managing budgets, tracking metrics and progress toward program goals Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders Manage contracts to meet goals and stay on budget Handle regulatory compliance and reporting, including regulatory reporting to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) or the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Make recommendations and develop processes to ensure a positive customer experience The ideal candidate has a strong background in program and project management within regulated environments (e.g. CPUC, CARB), excels at problem solving, and can communicate complex technical information effectively to diverse audiences. As this program focuses on overcoming barriers to EV adoption, the candidate should be eager to tackle undefined challenges, collaborate effectively, and apply curiosity and data driven methods to program development. Experience with transportation electrification, electric vehicles, EVSE installation and construction projects is highly preferred. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader. Preferred work location is Oakland, CA. PG&E is providing the full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The range to reasonably expect will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to the factors above. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Bay Area Minimum: $144,000.00 Bay Area Midpoint: $194,000.00 Bay Area Maximum: $244,000.00 And/or California Minimum: $137,000.00 California Midpoint: $184,000.00 California Maximum: $232,000.00 Job Responsibilities Applies broad expertise and advanced knowledge of Program Management skills to implement and administer the operation of PG&E’s Residential EV Charging program Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support cross-functional projects and initiatives related to PG&E’s residential electrification customer experience Can map out the residential electrification process and determine where there are opportunities for streamlining and how technology can help address pain points Works collaboratively with internal team members to meet program goals and equity compliance targets while prioritizing a successful end-to-end customer experience Manages relationships with external stakeholders and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) Partners with Regulatory and Compliance staff to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and support regulatory activities by supplying information for filings, data requests, and meeting with regulators Oversees program data and develops lessons learned to share with key stakeholders Represents the company externally at local events, trade shows, and industry panels May require travel time Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 10 years of related work experience Desired Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of Program Management Experience with product management and/or developing customer facing tools and apps Interest, willingness, and aptitude to learn new subjects related to Transportation Electrification Strong analytic skills and the ability to solve complex problems Demonstrated experience improving processes and/or application of Design Thinking principles Sound understanding of administering rebate and incentive programs Technical and functional knowledge of EV charging equipment and electrical service upgrades Proven track record for implementing new programs and maintaining program goals, budgets, long-term forecasts, and performing day-to-day tasks, like approving vendor invoices and managing accruals Detail oriented with excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
