Job Details Key Responsibilities Perform destructive testing (tear downs) on production samples using chisels, air tools, and hammers to verify weld strength. Measure nugget size and inspect fusion points of resistance spot welds against customer requirements. Identify and document weld failures, such as "cold welds" or undersized nuggets, to ensure structural integrity. Work closely with the Prototype Weld Supervisor to troubleshoot machine settings and improve weld quality. Maintain a safe and organized tear-down station, adhering to all PPE and safety protocols. Requirements & Qualifications Must Haves: Ability to use hand tools and air tools effectively in a physical role. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how metal components are joined. Commitment to safety and the use of protective equipment. Ability to read basic blueprints and record measurements accurately. Nice to Haves: Prior experience in a "tear down" or destructive testing role. Knowledge of resistance spot welding (RSW) processes. Basic proficiency with ERP systems or digital logging.
