Department: Intermediate Critical Care FTE: 0.90 Full Time Shift: Nights The Intermediate Critical Care (ICC) unit provides an opportunity for nurses to advance their practice by caring for patients who require increased monitoring, specialized interventions, and a higher level of clinical assessment than traditional acute care. The patient population includes diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and submassive pulmonary embolism (PE) patients who meet established criteria, post-operative parathyroidectomy patients, vascular surgery patients requiring frequent neurovascular and pulse assessments following procedures such as femoral-femoral bypass, femoral-popliteal bypass, and select TEVAR/EVAR procedures, as well as patients requiring hourly ophthalmic medications.
