Trailer Mechanic - $20.00/HOUR A company in Central El Paso needs a Trailer Mechanic. A Trailer Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains mechanical and electrical systems on trailers (dry vans, flatbeds, reefers, chassis) ensuring safety and compliance, involving tasks like brake/suspension work, welding, electrical fixes, preventative maintenance, and using diagnostic tools, requiring physical stamina, a valid driver's license, and often technical training or experience. Repairs will include mechanical, structural, and electrical work on brakes, suspension, air lines, replacement of product/chemical valves (internal/external), replacement of faulty lighting/reflectors, • Inspect tires and monitor wear for irregularities to maximize tire life. • Refuel (weekly) each of four towable air compressors. • Keep a small fleet of equipment (2 forklifts, 1 Kubota UTV, 1 electric golf cart) running well. • Inspect railroad track gauge (width) and stability to ensure railcars don’t derail. • Manage time well to accomplish tasks as schedules change. • Work well with others in a team environment or by themselves as needed. • Need to keep tools and equipment in good working order. • Be willing to accomplish other duties assigned all while wearing the proper PPE for the task.
