Job Description Amazon Warehouse Equipment Operator \n \n Shifts: \n \n Day, Overnight, Weekend\n \n Location: \n \n Edgerton, KS\n \n Job opportunities vary by location. We update postings daily with open positions.\n \n Hourly pay rate: Up to $21 \n \n \n Job Overview \n \n You'll be part of the Amazon warehouse team as an equipment operator - operating order pickers, reach trucks, forklifts, and other powered industrial trucks (PIT) to handle customer orders safely and efficiently. You'll use PIT equipment to unload and load trailers, store pallets, and retrieve pallets throughout the warehouse. No prior experience required—Amazon provides all PIT training and certification for free.\n \n \n \n \n Duties & Responsibilities \n \n \n \n \n \n Some of your duties may include:\n \n \n \n \n Receive and put away inventory \n Get customer orders ready and pack them up \n Load boxes into trucks for shipment \n Use scanners to read bar codes on products \n View prompts on screens and follow the direction for some tasks \n Troubleshoot problems \n Ensure product meets quality requirements \n Operate power industrial trucks (PIT) such as a forklift or pallet driver, and work at heights up to 35 feet. Equipment training and certification are provided free of cost. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n You'll also need to be able to:\n \n \n \n \n Lift up to 49 pounds \n Push utility carts up to 60 pounds \n Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts \n Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items around \n Go up and down stairs (where applicable) \n Work at a height of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable) \n Adhere to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards \n \n \n \n \n What it's like at an Amazon Fulfillment Center \n \n \n \n \n Safety. Your safety is important to us, so we provide protective gear. All teams share safety tips daily. \n Surroundings. You’ll be working around moving machines – order pickers, stand-up forklifts, turret trucks, and mobile carts. \n Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs. \n Temperature. Even with climate controls, temperatures can vary between 60°F and 90°F in some parts of the warehouse; on hot days, temperatures can be over 90°F in the truck yard or inside trailers. \n Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it. \n Dress code. Relaxed, with a few rules to follow for safety. Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required.
