Verify patient identity, obtain relevant history, and screen for contraindications (including contrast risk). Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and communicate with patients/families with empathy and confidence. Prepare and position patients; assist with mobility, safe transfers, and use immobilization/shielding as needed. Establish IV access using sterile technique and maintain venipuncture competency. Administer contrast media safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions; escalate concerns promptly. Operate CT scanners and power injectors safely; confirm proper anatomical markers and scan parameters. Optimize technique to achieve diagnostic image quality while minimizing radiation dose (ALARA). Evaluate image quality, recognize urgent findings/clinical changes, and involve the radiologist/physician when indicated. Complete documentation accurately and on time; manage RIS entries, PACS uploads, and CDs/logs when required. Perform, document, and follow through on QC checks, calibration verification, and compliance/audit standards. Maintain smooth daily operations by prioritizing workload, supporting cross-coverage/clerical needs, keeping rooms stocked and equipment cleaned/disinfected, participating in on-call, and adhering to regulatory/Joint Commission standards.
