Carpenter (Hiring Immediately)
Overview: Location: Shakopee, MN Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Salary Range: $25 - $29 per hour, depending on experience Preferred Start Date: January 19, 2026 Benefits: Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage Retirement Plan: 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off: 15 days of vacation, 11 holidays, and 6 sick days Job Description: Performs skilled trade duties in cabinet, carpentry, concrete, and asphalt work required in the maintenance, repair and construction of Park, restaurant and office buildings and equipment. Operates fixed and portable power tools and heavy equipment normally associated with the trade. Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated. Work related to wooden roller coasters and routine maintenance on fiberglass water slides will also be part of this role. Responsibilities: Plans repair schedules for park equipment and vehicle maintenance programs; inspects, services, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs vehicles and equipment. Walks and inspects track on wood coasters. Operates heavy equipment, such as forklifts, JLG lifts, various saws, two way radios, etc. Uses measuring devices, carpentry tools, concrete tools, landscaping tools, mechanics tools, etc. Documents work performed daily. Prepares and/or processes maintenance documentation and inspection forms, as required. Maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas. Properly maintains assigned equipment and tools. Works with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall. Utilizes chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures. Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives. Works on top of scaffolding, ladders, and the top beams of buildings. Checks work along the way to ensure its up to code and specifications. Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure. Works with prefabricated buildings. Builds stairs, mantles, and furniture. Install cabinets and molding. Remodels offices and structures. Creates structures for pouring concrete. Erects scaffolding. Builds trench bracing. Replaces panes of glass, ceiling tiles, and doors. Repairs or builds furniture. Installs partitions, doors, and windows. Moves and installs machinery. May work with blueprints or instructions supplied and ensure finished product matches specifications. Prepares the layout of the project. Estimates height, width, length, and other proportions and selects and purchases materials. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and hold a valid drivers license Strong communication skills. Requires good written communication skills. Must have a mechanical background in industrial drives to include chains, belts, reduction boxes and gears with handson experience. Ability to read blueprints and schematics to perform component troubleshooting. (Preferred) Use the power and hand tools common to the mechanical repair trade; detect malfunctions in operating machinery and make repairs. High level familiarity and experience working with shop tools. Ability to work independently and as a team. Ability to meet deadlines. Must be comfortable working on ladders and from heights. Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
