Job Description Job Description Commercial Casework Estimator Morris Black & Sons is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Estimator to support our growing commercial casework division. This role is based out of our Allentown, PA office/shop and reports directly to the Division Manager. Position Summary This position will focus primarily on commercial casework estimating, with occasional multi-family and residential opportunities. The Estimator will help position Morris Black & Sons competitively while protecting scope, margin, and execution expectations from the start of each project. Key Responsibilities Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents. Develop complete and accurate project estimates and proposals. Perform all estimating and bid entry within INNERGY. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, project risks, and potential cost exposure before bid submission. Evaluate and present value-engineering opportunities when appropriate. Obtain and evaluate vendor, material, subcontractor, freight, and installation pricing as needed. Follow up with general contractors, customers, and vendors throughout the bid process. Build and maintain strong working relationships with general contractors and customers. Coordinate internally with project management, engineering, purchasing, production, and leadership to ensure bids align with company capabilities and expectations. Manage multiple bids and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, organization, and responsiveness. Support a clean turnover process once projects are awarded. Preferred Background and Experience Mid-level estimating experience in commercial casework, architectural millwork, cabinetry, commercial interiors, or a related construction field. Strong ability to read and interpret architectural plans, elevations, details, finish schedules, and specifications. Experience preparing estimates for commercial construction or casework projects. Direct INNERGY experience is strongly preferred - Willing to train the right candidate with transferrable skills and industry knowlege. Experience with comparable estimating platforms, such as PlanSwift or similar software, will be considered transferable. Familiarity with material pricing, subcontractor/vendor coordination, labor assumptions, and scope review. Ability to recognize opportunities for value engineering while maintaining project intent and customer expectations. Hybrid flexibility of up to two remote days per week may be considered for the right candidate. Any hybrid arrangement will depend on demonstrated experience, productivity, communication, reliability, and business needs.
