Job Description Job Description Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Shipping & Receiving Inspector to handle incoming and outgoing parts, coordinate with outside processing vendors, and ensure all components meet visual and handling requirements before shipment to customers. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented who understands the importance of protecting aerospace hardware and maintaining quality throughout the shipping and receiving process. Key Responsibilities: Receive incoming parts from vendors and outside processing houses, such as Heat treaters, Anodize/Chem film houses and various forms of welding houses such as Mig/Tig or Spot-Welders. Perform visual inspections on incoming and outgoing parts to identify: Nicks Dings Scratches Cracks or surface defects Verify parts match accompanying paperwork and traveler requirements Properly package aerospace components to prevent damage during shipment via UPS or FedEx Prepare outgoing shipments and coordinate pickups (UPS or FedEx) Maintain clean and organized shipping/receiving areas Light local driving as needed (vendor or courier runs) Light lifting required (all parts are lightweight) Qualifications & Skills Experience in shipping, receiving, or inspection in a manufacturing or aerospace environment preferred Strong attention to detail and quality awareness Able to interpret blue prints for processes and tolerances Familiarity with proper packaging methods for precision/aerospace components Ability to identify cosmetic and surface defects on machined parts Basic computer skills (shipping software, email, paperwork) Experience with using CNC machines would be advantageous General understanding of machining processes and parts also advantageous Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to lift light items and be on your feet as needed Preferred Qualifications Prior aerospace or defense industry experience Experience working with outside processing vendors Understanding of basic quality or inspection standards Work Environment Small team, hands-on shop environment Stable daytime schedule Pasadena, CA Local candidates strongly preferred
