RESPONSIBILITIES Implement and administer safety program at each worksite, assist in developing site-specific safety activities, conduct safety orientation/training Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, analyze safety data, assist with major incident analysis, manage OSHA reporting Review safety submittals, monitor trade partner work plans, assist with onsite injury management, organize safety celebrations, participate in project planning/hazard analysis Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, maintain knowledge of safety standards/regulations, serve as safety resource, attend/chair safety meetings Collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, accompany safety/health/OSHA personnel on tours, ensure maintenance of safety equipment, manage PPE and safety budget Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in occupational safety, health, or related field preferred OR High school diploma with CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30 Hour training, and minimum five years of construction experience Previous related internship experience a plus Current driver’s license Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasks Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software programs Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate company policies Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Effective public speaking and presentation skills Effective communication and active listening skills, openness to diverse input and feedback Safety Engineer I MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: [see above] The base pay range for this role is $78,800 - $98,500 Safety Engineer II MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of related experience The base pay range for this role is $81,800 - $110,400 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
