Hospitalist - Physician

TeamHealth has a new day shift hospitalist opening at St. David's Georgetown Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is an established program between TeamHealth and HCA staffed with internal medicine hospitalists and nocturnists that are all local to Austin. Our physicians work a traditional 7-on, 7-off schedule. St. David's Georgetown has 118 beds but only 50 beds are handled by the hospitalist program. We are currently staffing with 2 daytime physicians (7a-7p); 1 swing physician (2p-7p), and 1 nocturnist physician (7p-7a). This is a closed ICU setting, averaging 20-22 total patient encounters per day shift clinician and an average of 7 admissions at night, seeing 60-70 cross coverage patients. We do not require our clinicians to perform procedures within this role. You only need to respond to codes for your patients, so you are able to assist the codes team. About the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician Position The Dell Medical School in conjunction with Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT), is seeking Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit physicians to be part of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. These physicians will work collaboratively with a highly skilled team to serve the growing needs of the regional pediatric population in Central Texas to deliver world class pediatric heart care. Candidates will possess experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, in addition to heart failure/transplant/mechanical circulatory support patients. Primary responsibilities will include oversight and provision of direct care to patients as well as guidance of the multidisciplinary cardiac ICU team. Candidates will also participate in coordinated transport/intake efforts to our dedicated, 36 bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. A successful candidate will have an appointment within the Department of Pediatrics at Dell Medical School and regular participation in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows will be expected.
