Emergency Medicine Physician
The Department of Pediatrics at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to lead and grow our division. The Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine delivers state-of-the-art clinical care to children presenting to our Pediatric Emergency Department. The Chief will also expand and innovate across the Division's research and education programs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to envision and realize the future growth of an outstanding emergency medicine program, housed within the nationally recognized and growing Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital and Saint Louis University. The division also supports an active fellowship training program. The Division Chief will: Provide expert emergency medical care to pediatric patients in an ACS-verified Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, seeing over 45,000 children annually Deliver care in a high-volume, urban emergency department that serves a diverse population from the inner city, the metropolitan area, and a 250-mile referral radius in Missouri and Illinois Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including pediatric trauma surgeons, pediatric intensivists, pediatric surgical subspecialists, pediatric radiologists, pediatric respiratory therapists, and pediatric pharmacists Participate in practice and quality improvement projects with a commitment to excellence in patient care Serve as a faculty member with Saint Louis University School of Medicine, contributing to the education of future healthcare providers, including fellows, residents, medical students and allied health students Ensure compliance with department, hospital, and institutional policies and procedural standards Qualifications: Qualified candidates will join at the Associate or Professor of Pediatrics level, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, be board-certified and eligible for medical licensure in the State of Missouri. Candidates will have already completed an ACGME-accredited 3-year fellowship program. Visa candidates are welcome to apply.
