Must assist in all aspects of the Radiology Department operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Must be ARRT registered in Radiographer (R) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Active status must be maintained in both areas. Must have three years MRI experience in a hospital setting, excluding training time. Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period. Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner. Requires positive and effective communicating skills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Radiology Specialty Technologist has a minimum of 4 years as a Diagnostic Technologist, has committed hours to FAHC, and functions at an advanced level within the Osteoporosis Center performing a wide variety of bone density procedures. He/She demonstrates progressive knowledge and sense of responsibility in the daily operations of the Osteoporosis Center. A high level of commitment, advanced skills, and acceptance of responsibility has been developed in performance of dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) and quantitative ultrasonography. A thorough knowledge of radiation procedures and safety is required. He/She assists in the clinical instruction of personnel as needed and participates in research protocols in collaboration with the principal investigator of the Osteoporosis Center and research coordinators. EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology approved by CAHEA/JRCERT. ARRT certified and is licensed with the State of Vermont and eligible to become certified and maintain certification by the ISCD EXPERIENCE: 4 years experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred.
