Chief Financial Officer (Austin)

SerpApi is the leading solution to integrate search data into web applications. Our API scrapes search engines, solves CAPTCHAs, and keeps up with changing page layouts in one simple GET request. Our customers include Nvidia, Shopify, Perplexity, Adobe, Samsung and more. We are a highly profitable, founder‑led technology company headquartered in Austin, Texas. We have built substantial revenue with a small team and no outside investors. That combination creates a rare CFO opportunity. The company has real financial scale, meaningful strategic options, and a finance function that needs to be built for the next stage. We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer who wants to be a builder. The CFO will strengthen the financial infrastructure behind SerpApi’s business and help leadership evaluate the strategic paths available to a capital‑efficient private company, including continued independent growth, future private investment, strategic transactions, and eventual public‑company readiness. This is a hands‑on executive role for a finance leader who can operate at both the strategic and operational levels. You will work directly with the founder‑CEO and leadership team to build the systems, reporting, controls, planning discipline, and capital strategy SerpApi needs as it scales. You will own finance and accounting, manage a small existing finance and accounting team, improve decision quality across the company, and help prepare SerpApi for the opportunities available to a profitable private technology company. The current finance function is lean. A small team is already in place, and the CFO will be expected to lead, mentor, and level up that team while also building better systems and processes. Some processes need to be formalized. Some systems need to be upgraded. Some reporting needs to become more executive‑grade. We want someone who sees that as an opportunity. The right person will bring structure, judgment, and rigor without adding bureaucracy for its own sake. Responsibilities Own SerpApi’s accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, tax, reporting, and strategic finance functions, including management of a 3‑person finance and accounting team. Build scalable financial systems, reporting processes, and internal controls for a profitable, growing technology company. Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash planning, financial modeling, and performance reporting. Partner with the CEO and leadership team on capital allocation, pricing, margins, hiring plans, vendor spend, legal spend, and long‑term strategy. Advise on long‑term capital strategy, including continued independent growth, future private investment, debt or equity financing, strategic partnerships, M&A, and eventual public‑company readiness. Build the financial reporting, controls, forecasting, and diligence readiness needed to keep those strategic paths available. Prepare clear financial materials for leadership, investors, lenders, auditors, advisors, and strategic counterparties when needed. Manage tax planning, tax reporting, franchise tax filings, and relationships with outside tax advisors. Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team while building clearer processes, stronger reporting, and a better operating cadence. Improve the finance function while preserving SerpApi’s high‑trust, transparent, and low‑bureaucracy culture. What we are looking for Experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, Controller, Head of Finance, investment banker, strategic finance leader, or capital markets professional. Experience with public or private investment, including investor relations, equity or debt financing, M&A, growth equity, venture capital, private capital, or IPO/public‑company readiness. Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting operations, tax, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit readiness. Experience in high‑growth technology, SaaS, API, AI, data infrastructure, developer tools, or usage‑based business models. Ability to turn financial data into clear recommendations for founders and operators. Strong judgment, high ownership, and comfort building inside a lean company. Willingness to do both strategic executive work and hands‑on operating work. Clear written communication and strong async collaboration skills. Nice to have CPA, MBA, public accounting, investment banking, transaction advisory, or strategic finance background. Experience preparing a private company for institutional investment, M&A, audit, IPO readiness, or public‑company reporting. Experience with finance systems, ERP implementation, SaaS metrics, usage‑based revenue models, 409A valuations, equity administration, board reporting, or investor materials. Experience working directly with founders, technical teams, or engineering‑led companies. J-18808-Ljbffr
