About the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician Position The Dell Medical School in conjunction with Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT), is seeking Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit physicians to be part of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. These physicians will work collaboratively with a highly skilled team to serve the growing needs of the regional pediatric population in Central Texas to deliver world class pediatric heart care. Candidates will possess experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, in addition to heart failure/transplant/mechanical circulatory support patients. Primary responsibilities will include oversight and provision of direct care to patients as well as guidance of the multidisciplinary cardiac ICU team. Candidates will also participate in coordinated transport/intake efforts to our dedicated, 36 bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor Laboratory Director will closely interact with the Division of Molecular & Genomic Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and will participate in the education of Pathology and OB/GYN residents/fellows, as well as training of LGG fellows through the ACGME-accredited program. Innovation is an important part of our activities, and we expect that the candidate will participate in publishing, collaborating, and developing new tests. The individual will be a full-time faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, as well as a participant in the UPMC/UPP faculty practice plan. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in cytogenetic testing of oncology specimens, and to candidates with experience in development of new molecular and cytogenetic tests such as Optical Genome Mapping.
