This oversight specifically includes the following Support ongoing mitigation plans filed with the Regional Entity (Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC)) Partners with Electric Engineering business units on the development of mitigation plans Partners with controls verification team on development and implementation of test plans, incorporating any findings into improvements in NERC compliance Assists with annual gap analysis Supports investigations into compliance issues with NERCwith a focus on O&P standard family Develops compelling data-driven business cases for or against specific courses of action and potential risk mitigation alternatives as appropriate Ensures readiness for new or changing NERC requirements Provides strategic direction regarding areas of NERC compliance in common with CPUC, OEIS, and CAISO Identifies gaps between compliance requirements and guidance documentation Identifies opportunities for new internal controls Helps build additional internal controls Supports development of compliance narratives and RSAW documentation Provides support during CPUC/WECC/FERC audits Provides inputs into FERC/NERC policy as it pertains to development of new and/or revised NERC Reliability Standards May provide additional support during CAISO Annual Maintenance Review Work type: Hybrid (three days a week in office) Work Location: Flexible within service territory, with Rocklin, Oakland, or Sacramento preferred. This centralized, risk-informed approach allows PG&E to manage electric risk, asset and system health, interconnections, and performance by using consistent standards, work methods, prioritization, and program sponsorship, while leveraging lessons learned from inspections and asset data to inform asset management decisions. Accountable for asset planning and strategy, standards and work methods, and asset data management for Electric. The Electric Compliance Assurance department is part of the Regulatory Compliance organization, where together we will imbed compliance and risk in all that we do and achieve regulatory outcomes that support the business’ needs. The work of this department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The main functions of this new department are identifying areas of compliance risk and opportunities to mitigate those risks, incident reporting and investigation, Electric Operations and Power Generation CAP, Serious Injury and Fatality Investigations, and privileged investigations. Position Summary PG&E is seeking an experienced business professional to be a member of the Electric Incident Investigations (EII) Team as an Incident Investigator, Senior. The EII team is responsible for reporting Electric Incidents (EIRs) to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), investigating EIRs and areas of compliance risk to determine the cause and any corrective or preventive measures to mitigate reoccurrence. This role will have a high level of visibility with PG&E leadership and will support one or many aspects of EII’s scope. A strong applicant will be an organized, motivated, curious, a consensus builder, and seeks to understand the “bigger picture”. Location of this position is flexible within PG&E service territory and will require occasional travel to other areas around PG&E’s service territory. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and assigned office based on business needs. Project manages investigations, including building consensus with multiple senior leaders to stay on schedule. Abstract or synthesize from one set of ideas or facts to another, identify causal relationships, and anticipate obstacles during the investigation. Communicate with peers, subordinates, leadership, and stakeholders using a variety of methods and conveying information or conclusions in a clear, direct, and non-threatening manner. Investigate and manage investigation of Electric Incidents of medium risk. Prepare and submit Electric Incident Reports and Apparent Cause Evaluations (ACEs), including identifying corrective actions and gaining consensus with senior leadership to mitigate risk. Identify and summarize compliance risk concerns including forecasting potential Notices of Violation (NOVs) from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Prepare and submit responses to NOVs received by the CPUC. Manages very complex investigations and data extracts/analysis, ensuring data accuracy. Analyzes data using various advances statistical tools to develop reports, summaries, and trends. Demonstrates and utilizes broad expertise in data processing and data analysis and applies this knowledge to a number of different issues. Investigate fires of medium risk to PG&E, including working with PG&Es Legal team. Prepares and presents summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive leaders. Background Qualifications Minimum BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience 4 years of related work experience Desired Travel to other facilities for meetings and site visits about 10% to 20% of time Master’s Degree in information systems, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Experience with electric operation systems (data systems within electric operations). Proven ability to prepare materials for and effectively communicate/present highly complex findings to senior and executive leaders with clarity, gain consensus on path forward on aggressive timelines.
