Job Title: Phlebotomist II - Float Job Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 Job Duration: 4 months (high chance of extension) Shift hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm with Rotational Saturdays Job Description: · Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. · Have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. · Demonstrate leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. Demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public in general. Must be able to have a positive attitude and teamwork and be able to multitask under pressure. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable. Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations and required to cover at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice. Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business. Minimum 3 years’ phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. High school diploma or equivalent required. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience. Floaters travel in between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at whatever site they are covering for that day. They must also have a clean driving record. Mileage can be submitted for expense reimbursement between sites and not from home. Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue (bus, Uber, rideshare is not reliable transportation). Must be available to work whenever scheduled, BE ON TIME, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism/tardiness is not tolerated and will be cause for termination.
