Job Description Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Aircraft Structural Assembler performs the assembly, fitting, finishing, and bonding of aircraft structural components and subassemblies to precise aerospace specifications. This role uses technical drawings, work orders, and specialized tools to complete final assembly work while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and industry standards. Relevant Military Backgrounds / AQDs Encouraged, but not limited to: Strong alignment with aviation structures and fabrication experience: Aircraft structural repair, modification, and airframe overhaul Sheet metal fabrication, drilling, fastening, and assembly Composite repair, layup, bonding, and curing processes Depot-level aircraft structural maintenance Corrosion control and structural restoration Aircraft manufacturing, production, or fabrication roles Precision layout, blueprint reading, and structural alignment Examples of closely aligned military specialties: Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic – Safety Equipment (AME) Marine Corps Airframes (6092/6093) and aviation structures MOS fields Air Force 2A7X3 Aircraft Structural Maintenance Army 15-series aviation maintenance MOS (airframe/structures focused) POSITION DESCRIPTION The Aircraft Structural Assembler is responsible for performing complex final assembly for production parts and flyaway composite parts, specifically. Tasks include final fit up, finishing work, drill and tap, final assembly, and bonding of parts. The following essential job functions are performed as an Aircraft Structural Assembler: Assemble and fit aircraft structural parts and subassemblies Perform test fit and gap checks with high tolerances Perform structural adhesive bonding preparation per product specifications and compliance programs Align, fit, assemble, connect, or install system components, using jigs, fixtures, measuring instruments, hand tools, or power tools Adjust, repair, rework, or replace parts and assemblies Layout and mark reference points Read and understand blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders Receive and carry out directions from designated supervisors, production leads, and cell managers Must understand and comply with safety and 5S Must understand and comply with AS9100 and Nadcap Practices and Procedures as applicable Must be able to read, understand and execute work orders to exacting specifications Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition Performs on the job training for project certifications, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job Performs other duties as assigned THIS ROLE ALLOWS TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS TO Translate military aviation structural and maintenance experience into the civilian aerospace industry Gain exposure to advanced composite aircraft manufacturing and assembly operations Work on high-visibility aerospace and defense programs Build experience supporting FAA- and AS9100-regulated environments Develop civilian-recognized technical and quality skills QUALIFICATIONS SkillBridge eligibility is defined as a program for active-duty service members within 180 days of being discharged or released from active duty. Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3). This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
