Description In this Job, the Sr. Engineering Manager will: Lead the manufacturing engineering and automation function for a highly automated, high‑volume production site. Own strategy and execution for improving OEE, yields, scrap, changeover times, and line robustness across extrusion, molding, and automated assembly. Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership to ensure stable operations and rapid resolution of line issues and non‑conformances. Drive structured root cause analysis and implement durable corrective and preventive actions in a regulated environment. Plan and deliver major capital and transfer projects, from concept through validation and ramp‑up, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. Champion the selection, specification, and commissioning of new automation cells and molding/extrusion equipment. Develop and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff, setting priorities, coaching performance, and building future leaders. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to align on production goals and risk mitigation. Ensure all engineering activities comply with FDA, GMP, and relevant quality system requirements. Promote Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive long‑term operational excellence. Profile A successful Sr. Engineering Manager will have: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field; an advanced degree (MS or MBA) is a plus. 10 years of engineering experience in high‑volume manufacturing, including several years in a leadership or management role. Deep expertise in automation for large‑scale discrete manufacturing (e.g., high‑speed assembly, robotics, vision, or complex cells). Strong background in plastic injection molding; experience with extrusion processes is highly preferred. Proven track record in regulated, precision industries such as medical device, pharma, food, or aerospace. Hands‑on experience applying Lean and Six Sigma tools (DOE, capability studies, Gage R&R, etc.) to deliver measurable results. Solid understanding of equipment validation, process characterization, and statistical process control. Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional projects, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on aggressive timelines. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the maturity to influence at all levels of the organization.
