Job Title: BIM Modeler/CAD Technician for Electrical or Mechanical Job Location: 100% remote role: Fully remote role, but as there is a potential to convert to FTE, HM ideally wants someone who live close to Seattle, Austin, or Virginia Client Office location Job Duration: 12 Months Contract Pay Rate: $45.00/hr to $48.00/hr Job Description: PS: Data center experience isn’t required. Experience on commercial buildings such as hospitals, retail, or similar facilities, works well. If a candidate’s primary strength is Electrical, the interview will focus there, though candidates with exposure to both Electrical and Mechanical systems are preferred. ELECTRICAL: The ideal candidate will be a part of highly creative and efficient MEP BIM team, tasked with participating in challenging and complex projects with innovative solutions for client-owned Data Center facilities. Will provide support to our Central Engineering Team through the preparation of Electrical BIM models, construction documents and leveraging BIM data. You will influence Data Center design documents for: One-lines, Switchgear, UPS, Panelboards, Transformers, Power, Lighting, Lighting Control Systems, Grounding, Fire Alarm systems, Cable tray and Cable pathways for Ethernet and Fiber systems. MECHANICAL: Daily responsibilities will include designing the Mechanical and Plumbing systems of Data Centers, and utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You must be able to work independently and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors Basic Qualifications 2 years of design/engineering experience of Electrical Building systems, or Mechanical Plumbing on mission-critical facilities. 2 years’ experience using Revit for producing complex BIM models and construction drawings for Electrical or Mechanical building systems. Practical knowledge and understanding of codes and safety regulations related to MEP industry. Preferred Qualifications Experience directly related to Data Center design and construction. Experience with developing Revit Family content. Use of the following software tools: AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools and Procore Key job responsibilities Daily responsibilities will include designing the electrical systems of Data Centers, and utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You must be able to work independently with occasional guidance and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors. Your duties will include: Be self-motivated and work within the MEP group as well as within other teams. Preparing and developing detailed Revit models of Electrical building systems. Developing & publishing construction documentation for Electrical building systems designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables. Updating and modifying existing models, studies and construction documents as required. Participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution. Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations. Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers. Team culture: Part of DS BIM design team of 35 that work to deliver data center designs in AMER region. Looking for good energy and willingness to learn the processes used in AWS DCEI DS BIM group. Daily Schedule: 5 days, 8 hours each M-F. Remote is acceptable. Required Skills Use of Autodesk Revit, and Navis for BIM Modeling and drawing creation. Awareness of building systems (Electrical, or Mechanical) in AMER. Years of Experience: 2 years in mission critical industry (Data Center, Hospital, other). Must-have hard skills: MS suite of programs, good communicator using chat, email and video meetings.
